New !!!

Some people have been asking about Troy. She has been sold- in fact she sold extraordinarily quickly- and has returned to the East Coast from whence she was brought to the Clyde and is already racing out of Grimsby. The boat shown above is her replacement. She is a Seaquest SJ320 called 'Little Bear' (the name stays). The design is probably best remembered on the Clyde as the first Tundra incarnation and attracted further attention when 'Miss Tuttles' won Class 3 at the Scottish Series this year. With a little help from some friends we sailed her up from Guernsey in late July. We went off family cruising immediately and she is seen here in Loch Nevis. We'll resume racing as soon as poss - hopefully some former Troy crew will volunteer- and get her sorted properly for next season. The Cumbraes Regatta if we can get organised in time for 21st August will be her first Clyde outing. A significant learning curve is anticipated.

A few pics of other boats taken on our hols are on this page

Particular congratulations to Colin Porteous of LSC on winning the Sigma 33 class/Sigma Europeans at Cork Week. Well deserved in our opinion.

Clydesailing is a site aimed specifically at those of us who like to sail and race in ordinary type yachts on the Clyde and West of Scotland. The perspective is that of the enthusiastic club sailor who does not have the resources of the semi professional. We aim to provide information and unashamedly biased comment on local yachting events. If you are interested in yacht racing and sailing in Scotland please take a look around.

Our Clydesailing discussion board remains an excellent place to share sailing opinions, lies and fantasies. We are also extremely keen to include any news, reports or pictures which you think might be of interest and if you have any retrospective stories or pictures of your 2003 season please send them to us and they'll definitely be used.

Chas, the author of this site, is the ex-owner of Troy,an old 30 foot yacht which along with his family and mates he raced and cruises
from the Clyde. I'd be interested in any comments on the site and will respond to any questions. If you are new to sailing on the Clyde and have any questions or interest please email me. I'll either try to answer them myself or point you to someone who can. You can use the reply page to email me.
